CSI on scene and cordon erected at Blackbush Walk Thornaby

Blackbush Walk in Thornaby is blocked off with white-suited investigators spotted inside a home.

Two crime scene investigation vans and a police car are parked on the street with two officers guarding the scene.

CSI were spotted taking photos at the property and evidence markers have been placed outside the flats. 

One resident spoke of her shock at police being called to the area, she told The Northern Echo that it is usually "quiet".

She said when she woke up she was "shocked" to see police outside.

The Northern Echo has contacted emergency services for comment.
