Antiques Roadshow expert Duncan Campbell was left in awe during the latest episode of the BBC show, which aired on Sunday (March 30) night, as he came across what he described as "the nicest teapot" he's ever encountered.

Broadcasting from Swanage Pier in Dorset, host Fiona Bruce led viewers through an array of intriguing items including a famous pantomime dame's costumes, a well-worn watch with a surprisingly hefty valuation, and some highly prized Star Wars collectables.

Yet, it was a diminutive silver teapot that truly captivated Duncan. Initially appearing to be nothing more than a child's plaything, this tiny treasure turned out to be a rare find worth a staggering £12,000.

The teapot, small enough to fit snugly in one's hand, had been inherited from the guests' great uncle and aunt. Duncan couldn't hide his admiration, exclaiming: "This is the nicest teapot I've certainly ever seen on Antiques Roadshow and arguably I've ever seen."

His enthusiasm didn't stop there as he continued, "I absolutely adore it and I am more than a little bit envious."

The teapot's maker, Paul de Lamerie, is renowned as one of the most prestigious silversmiths in English history, and his miniature creations are exceptionally rare. Crafted in 1728, the teapot's value of at least £12,000 elicited an astonished reaction from its owners, reports the Mirror

Duncan concluded with high praise for the piece, saying: "It is absolutely beautiful.

"If I could take home one piece of silver I could take home from all the roadshows I've ever done, it would be this one."

The teapot's owners commented: "I knew it was special but it's nice to have that confirmed."
