The investigation into a suspected stabbing inside a flat that left a man in hospital with injuries to his head, arms, and stomach is 'ongoing', police say.

Police, ambulance crews, and crime scene investigators were seen on Woodford Walk in Thornaby at around 1.50pm on Saturday (March 29). 

A man, 27, was treated at the scene by paramedics, before he was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

CSI officers were seen going in and out of a flat with crime scene markers placed at numerous locations inside the cordon.

On Monday (March 31), Cleveland Police confirmed that an investigation into the incident remains ongoing at this time.

"We dispatched two ambulance crews and a specialist paramedic to the scene. One patient was taken to hospital for further treatment.”
