Kid Rock Reveals What Went Down During Trump’s Meeting with Bill Maher: ‘Everybody’s Mind Was Kinda Blown’

Kid Rock revealed what exactly went down when President Donald Trump met with one his most vocal critics, comedian Bill Maher, in a White House get-together brokered by Rock.

Kid Rock joined Fox & Friends on Tuesday following him visiting the White House on Monday where Trump signed an executive order targeting ticket scalpers. The musician, Maher, and UFC head Dana White all broke bread that night. Among the conversation topics were “ending wokeness” and “securing the border.” Kid Rock also said Trump asked Maher about his thoughts on policies related to Iran and Israel.

The musician recalled:

The president was gracious. Took us up to the private residence, we saw the Gettysburg Address in the Lincoln bedroom. I was like, you’ve never been here, Bill? I was like, how about this? President Trump extending the olive branch — and we talked about things we had in common. Ending wokeness, securing the border. The president was asking him what he thought about policy going on with Iran and Israel and things. It blew my mind. I was very proud.

He added that “everyone” was “skeptical” of this meeting he put together, including the president. The musician set up the meeting after a recent appearance on Maher’s Club Random podcast.

Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday night to say he wasn’t “crazy” about meeting with Maher.

“I really didn’t like the idea much, and don’t like it much now, but thought it would be interesting,” he wrote.

The president accused Maher of being “unjustifiably critical anything, or anyone, TRUMP.” This followed Maher on Real Time roasting Republicans and MAGA for having “Trump Devotion Syndrome.”

Kid Rock said he believes Maher walked away with a new appreciation for Trump and he celebrated the dinner as a success in showing people can come together during turbulent times.

“Everybody’s mind was blown, even the president’s,” he said.

Check out the exchange below:

KID ROCK: I went on Bill’s show, I went on his podcast and said, man, you know, nothing happens if people don’t break bread together and meet face-to-face. He’s been one of the president’s hardest critics. And we came to dinner, me, Bill, Dana White and it could not have been better. Everyone was so surprised. It was so pleasant. The most shocking thing to me was Bill is obviously a big liberal and hard on the president. He’s donated a lot of money to other politicians, Biden, Clinton, Obama, he had never been to the White House.

LAWRENCE JONES: Do you think he walked away liking him? Trump is the type of person you have to meet him to understand him.

ROCK: 100%, 100%. Me and Dana said there has never been anyone who ever met the president who has walked away without saying, wow, what a great guy. So funny and engaging and so smart. Absolutely, Bill even said to me after that he goes wow, that was — everybody’s mind was blown, even the president’s. The president called me late last night. Everyone was a little suspect going into this. Even the president said, what have you got me doing? Man, we’re trying to show people that even though we’ve been hard on each other, when you get face-to-face maybe we can have more civility in the country and try to bring people together. That was my whole intention.
