Md. native, 'Abbott Elementary' star Lisa Ann Walter returns home for 2-night comedy tour

Lisa Ann Walter, known for her role in ABC’s #1 Emmy-nominated show "Abbott Elementary" is returning to her home state to perform a comedy show.

The two-night show is coming to Magoobys Joke House in Timonium, Maryland on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.

The Silver Spring native spoke with 7News about her love for her city, making it to Hollywood and comedy's special impact through comedic messaging.

"There are a number of us from from the DMV; and first of all, it's a great place to grow up," Walter told 7News.

"Being from the area and then coming back home...it's beautiful. It fills my heart, but it's also a city full of really smart people, and it was a great place to do stand up," Walter said.

Walter is also known for her role in the iconic film, "The Parent Trap." Before that, her first televised comedy set was as a featured professional standup act on 'It’s Showtime at the Apollo.'

Walter and the cast of Abbott Elementary will return to screens soon after being renewed for season 5.
