The Apprentice fans brand double firing 'unfair' as 'great candidate' goes home
The Apprentice viewers were left fuming on Thursday night as Lord Alan Sugar sent home two more contestants
The Apprentice returned with a fresh episode on Thursday (3rd April), ratcheting up the intensity as week ten arrived, thrusting the contenders into yet another challenging task.
Lord Alan Sugar set his candidates the challenge of creating an environmentally friendly and sustainable fashion brand this time around. The two teams were set to design a range and establish a brand before staging a runway show catered to potential purchasers.
The day dawned early for the remaining seven participants, who were whisked away in two vehicles, only to later find out they were en route to the London College of Fashion to kick off their challenge.
With Liam, Anisa, Jordan and Mia making up one team, Jordan was elected project manager due to his experience in business.
The opposite team consisted of Chisola, Dean and Karen, with Chisola stepping up as the project manager, reports the Mirror.
Team Chisola emerged victorious, impressing buyers and ensuring all three participants progressed to the coveted final five. They celebrated with a delighted dinner cruise along the Thames, courtesy of Lord Sugar.
But tensions rose back at the boardroom as Lord Sugar prepared to fire not one but two contestants.
Ultimately, Liam was the first to be let go from The Apprentice, with Lord Sugar expressing his disappointment: "Liam, I can't really forgive anybody for not giving their all. So, it is with regret that you're fired."
After offering individual feedback to Mia, Jordan, and Anisa on their efforts, Lord Sugar disclosed which of the trio would depart alongside Liam.
"Regretfully, Mia, you were responsible overall for the disaster of these designs," he declared. "Therefore, I'm sorry to say, but you're fired."
Social media was abuzz with reactions to Lord Sugar's verdict, as numerous viewers argued Mia shouldn't have been let go, praising her as a "great candidate".
"Mia has been a great candidate, this is so unfair on her but she was the reason the task failed #TheApprentice," one viewer expressed on X, while another voiced: "I'm sooooooo shocked at that firing justice for Mia."
"Nahhh Mia shouldn't be leaving wtf #TheApprentice," vented another fan, and someone else remarked: "NO WAY? What a mistake of firing #TheApprentice."
Yet, some concurred with Lord Sugar's judicious move, including one commentator who noted: "Mia the right one to go. She took over on most tasks, pushed her ideas until PMs went with them, regardless of what was best for the team. That makes you as much of a team player as Liam was for sulking I'm afraid #TheApprentice."
The Apprentice airs on Thursdays on BBC One at 9pm
