Trisha Goddard's health as she joins Celebrity Big Brother after terminal cancer diagnosis
Former talk show host Trisha Goddard is expected to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house when the show makes its return to ITV next week. It comes a year after her devastating cancer announcement
With Celebrity Big Brother just days away from its return, it's rumoured Trisha Goddard will be walking through the famous doors of the ITV house. It comes just a year after the former morning TV presenter revealed she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Trisha, 67, is set to share the home with EastEnders ' Patsy Palmer, Coronation Street 's Jack P. Shepherd, according to reports. Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa is also seemingly confirmed for a stint in the house after she touched down in the UK this week.
While a Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson said "any names suggested for Celebrity Big Brother are purely speculation," Trisha is said to be excited to be involved with the social experiment, according to sources.
Trisha's apparent impending appearance comes after the devastating news she has incurable cancer. In February 2024, the TV star announced her breast cancer had returned.
She had previously being diagnosed and recovering from the illness in 2008.
Trisha previously discussed her past cancer publicly and admitted she only wanted to share the news that it had returned as she felt pressure from keeping the diagnosis to herself.
She tragically said: "It's not going to go away." She continued: "And with that knowledge comes grief, and fear. But I must keep enjoying what I have always enjoyed."
She has kept a relatively low profile in recent weeks. However, she has sometimes documented health updates on social media and recently told fans "movement as medicine" as she showed herself going for a long walk.
She revealed she has been suffering side effects of her chemotherapy, but continues to battle on, with the former ITV talk show host saying she doesn't want people to change how they perceive her following the diagnosis.
She also recently took to Instagram to explain how skating has helped her deal with her health issues. "Shout out to my wonderful Skating Fam," she said.
The star then went on to say she hadn't been able to join in for the last couple of years, thanks to the shattered hip and chemo-induced neuropathy.
The TV star is best known for hosting her self-titled talk show on ITV between 1998 and 2005. She then moved with the talk show to Channel 5, where it aired for four years.
