Alarm bells are ringing for a British holidaymaker who's mysteriously vanished in Thailand, leaving relatives concerned.

Daniel Davies, a 26-year-old lad from Llanelli, was staying at Bangkok's Hangover Hostel before he was then seen at resort isle of Koh Phi Phi over a month ago.

His family have had no word from him since March 13, saying it's 'highly out of character'. A missing person's report has been filed with Dyfed-Powys Police and cops in Southeast Asia have had no luck tracking him down.

Nicola Doran, Daniel's aunt, said: "My nephew Daniel Davies has gone missing in Bangkok, Thailand. He's been reported and is now a missing person. No one has had any contact in weeks."

His pal Lucia Froom added: "Daniel's phone is switched off and no one has heard from him in weeks, which isn't like him at all."

She plead for help: "If anyone knows anyone in Thailand or is planning a trip there soon, can people please keep an eye out for him.", reports the Mirror.

Cops says Daniel is six feet, slim with blonde hair and a beard and has tattoos on both arms.

Good samaritans at the missing persons charity Echoes of the Lost and SARS Cymru are also rallying round, saying: "Daniel, if you happen to see this post, please get in contact with your family. They are worried. If you wish to message us to pass information along, please feel free to do so."

The Foreign Office is reportedly aware of the missing persons' report.

Thailand, a magnet for globetrotters with its exotic allure, party hotspots and buzzing backpacker hubs, welcomes millions each year.

It's generally seen as a safe bet for holidaymakers, but some trips sadly take a dark turn, with tourist fatalities and serious injuries reported monthly.

But Brits have been caught up in tragic events. Last week a British tourist was rushed to intensive care after allegedly playing Russian roulette while high on a cocktail of cannabis and laughing gas.

Michael James Ward, 30, from Birkenhead, Merseyside, is said to have smoked marijuana and inhaled nitrous oxide at a hotel with a friend in Thailand.
