South African Actor Abdul Khoza Receives Warm Welcome and Special Award in Nkayi Zimbabwe
Renowned South African actor Abdul Khoza was recently in Nkayi, Zimbabwe, where he received a hero’s welcome and was honoured with an award during the Imiklomela KaDakamela awards showcase.
The event celebrates excellence across various fields and is deeply rooted in community pride and recognition.
Celebrated by the Community and Royalty Alike
Khoza, well known for his role on ‘The Wife’ as Nqoba Zulu was not just a special guest at the event but was also recognised by Chief Dakamela himself, who presented the actor with an award.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Khoza shared his gratitude for the experience.
“Anginawo amaningi for how unforgettable the experience of iNkayi has been to me. Especially the honour of knowing Chief Dakamela Nkayi who has been so supportive on both trips, along with the entire community of Dolahali and KwaDakamela. The awards were nothing short of amazing – even members of the royal family from KZN came to celebrate with us. Thank you for the flowers and the love received.”

Ubuntu Spirit Keeps Khoza Coming Back
This marks Khoza’s second visit to Nkayi, and the actor was quick to point out what keeps drawing him back — the unwavering spirit of Ubuntu and hospitality he receives from the community.
“The reason I keep coming back again and again is because of the Ubuntu you all show me on that side of the world. To your amazing family who always take care of us, Awa Khiwe, we are really grateful to have them. Here’s to many, many more visits.”

“It was such an honour to host Abdul Khoza at our creative camp in Nkayi for the second time. Last time I kept it under wraps, but this time I wanted him to experience the love our people have for him and his art.
It was beautiful to watch. Thank you, Chief Dakamela, for welcoming him to our community with open arms and honouring him with an award. May God bless you, Khoza. Thank you for blessing our home with your presence and positive energy. You are an amazing soul,” she wrote.
