KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 21-year-old Shawnee man died Tuesday afternoon in a one-car crash on Interstate 435 in Wyandotte County.
The crash happened about 1:20 p.m. on northbound I-435 about a mile north of Kansas 32 Highway, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log.
Jacob Robert Thomas Rhodes was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata when the car veered over to another lane, came back, and ran into a bridge pillar, the crash log states.
Rhodes was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
No other vehicles were listed on the crash log as being involved in the accident.
The crash shut down the interstate for about four hours.
